MARGINS: text margin (blue) and bleed margin (red). Anything outside of the red margin will get cut off after printing. But to be safe, everything except the background image should be inside the blue margin. No guarantee or warranty is offered for designs that don’t adhere to these guidelines.
Select a background image: can be changed at any time
Quick Layout: You can change this at any time in the design process and even click and drag text blocks around to place them exactly where you want them.
Enter your text
Use the ‘All Colors’ color picker to set the same color for all of the text.
Use the color picker next to each line to select the color for that individual line.
Click on any line of text to edit
Edit Text, Font, Font Size, Font Color, Justify, Rotate, Alpha (transparency)
Additional Text
Add more lines of text wherever you wish. Just click the text button and click anywhere on the canvas.
Text Layout
At any time during your design process, you can reset the text layout or choose a new layout with this button.
Add Shapes
Add Circle, Square, Star or Polygon. Includes options for size, color, border (stroke), angle (rotation), alpha (transparency), and points for star and polygon.
Draw a line: vertical or horizontal.
Display Grid: Use this design tool to help with positioning by measuring distance between elements.
Add your own images
IMPORTANT! Be sure your images are high enough resolution to print well.
Your original image file should be at least 300dpi. Ideally, to fill a business card top to bottom, an image should be at least 600 pixels tall. (A business card is 2 inches tall)
If you don’t know the size of your image, open it on your computer and view it full size. If it fills your screen top to bottom, it should be large enough. Otherwise, it may not be large enough. In general, website images are not large enough. No guarantee or warranty is offered for designs that don’t adhere to these guidelines.
Click the add image button, then click ‘Add Files’ to find the file on your computer, then click ‘Upload Files’ to send it to the Online Designer.
After adding your image, you can resize, rotate, change the layer order, change the alpha (transparency/opacity) and move it anywhere you wish.
Open Previous Designs: If you previously created an account and saved your design(s), you can open them to reorder or edit them here.
Save Your Designs: If you created an account, you can save your designs here for reordering or for editing later.
Preview – Proofing is your responsibility
See how your cards will look after printing and cutting. This step is critical. You are responsible for proofing your designs before ordering. To ensure your designs are within acceptable margins and your text doesn’t have any typos, you need to proof your cards with this preview function. Reprints and refunds will not be offered.
Clear: This wipes your canvas clean. Do not click this unless you want to start over from scratch.
PLACE ORDER: Once you’re happy with your design and you have thoroughly proofed it with the preview function, click the ‘Place Order’ button and proceed like any other shopping cart system. All major credit cards accepted.
