Printing Your Business Card Design

Print-Ready files types:

.tiff
.psd (flattened, no layers),
.pdf, or .eps
(convert text to curves for
pdf & eps files)

SPECS on Print-ready files:

Color Mode: CMYK
Resolution: 300 DPI (minimum)

Margins:
Main or Text Margin: 1/8" (All text and images other than the background image should be at least 1/8" from the edge of the paper.)
Bleed Margin: 1/16"
If you want ink printed to the edges of the paper, Make your canvas .125" larger than the final printed size (3.5" x 4" business cards would need a canvas size of 3.625" x 4.125"). Your background image would cover the entire canvas.
Make a bleed margin 1/16" from each edge of the cards. After printing, we cut them down to size.
You will lose 1/16" of your background image on all sides.
This ensures that there is no white space around the edges after cutting.
